Fine art and contemporary works are displayed within a number of art galleries around the city of Bordeaux.

The best galleries feature large, permanent collections of paintings, sculptures and other art works, along with many rotating displays and visiting exhibitions.

Housed in a converted 19th-century warehouse, Bordeaux's main art gallery exhibits a selection of its extensive permanent collection of art works from the 1960s onwards. There are also over 100 temporary exhibits at any one time. Modern art lovers can also enjoy a visit to the museum's library and bookshop to find out more about their favourite works.

Bordeaux's Museum of Fine Art (Musée des Beaux Arts) houses an excellent collection of artwork dating from the 15th to the 20th centuries. The art gallery also includes work by the likes of Perugina, Titian, Marquet and Rubens.

Bordeaux Art Galleries: Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Museum of Decorative Arts) - Rue Bouffard, Bordeaux, France, FR

The Musée des Arts Décoratif is housed in a fine 18th-century building. The museum's exhibits include a variety of 18th and 19th century porcelain as well as furniture, sculptures, prints and glassware from Bordeaux and other areas of France.
